This article will provide instructions on how to enable email notifications from Gmail while while using a browser on Windows. The instructions will be shown using Chrome but this can be enabled using any browser.
Note: Notifications will only appear if there is a browser window or tab open to Gmail

Step-by-Step instructions
Step 1: In Gmail, go to Settings
Or
- In Gmail > Settings icon > See all Settings > General > Desktop notifications
Step 2: Select the type of notification you want to receive
- Select your preferred notification setting in the Desktop notifications section
- Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page
Step 3: Enable notifications from your browser on Windows
- In Chrome go to Settings > Privacy and security >Site Settings > Notifications > Sites Can ask to send notifications
- Ensure that mail and calendar are Allowed to send Notifications
- Step 4: Disable Foscus Assist in Windows - right click on Action Center on Task bar tnen Select Focus Assist. Ensure this is Off
