Prior to our email migration, you may have created a Google account using your collingwood.org email address. This guide will walk you through the steps you need to take to fix the account name conflict and rename your personal collingwood.org Google account to something else.
Note: These steps will only work after April 8, 2022 when Collingwood's email migration is complete.
Step-by-step Guide
Step 1: Sign into Google with your personal collingwood.org account
- Open an incognito window in Chrome by clicking on the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner and selecting New Incognito window
- In the new incognito window, navigate to google.ca
- Click on the Sign In button in the top right corner
- In the Email or phone field, type in your collingwood.org email address and click Next
- You will be asked to choose an account. Select Personal Google Account
- Input the password for this personal account and click Next
Note: This password may differ from your Collingwood AD password (the password you use to sign into your computer) If you do not know this password, You will need to click on the Forgot password? option
Step 2: Select your new account type
- When prompted to select the account type you would like, select the An account with Gmail and a new Gmail address option
Step 3: Configure a new email address for the account
- Fill in the following fields in order to update the account name (email address) and click Submit
- Name
- Choose your Gmail address
Note: You will see an error message if the email address you have chosen is unavailable. It may take a few attempts before you can find an available email address.
