This guide will show how to import the Collingwood Directory in Google Contacts into your Contacts list in order for Collingwood faculty and staff email address to appear in Outlook for Macs. While this guide can be performed by users on Windows or MacOS, it is more for the benefit of Mac users.

- Step 1: Navigate to Google Contacts
- In Google Contacts, your personal contacts will appear. Before we import the Collingwood Directory, we will catagorize the personal contacts by using a Label. Using labels will help separate contacts much like using folders.
- Step 2: We will go ahead and create a label for the personal contacts.
Step-by-step guide
Step 1: Navigate to Google Contacts
- https://contacts.google.com and login with your Collingwood email account.
or
- If in any other Google Service, click on the 9 dots on the top-right of the page and click on Contacts.
In Google Contacts, your personal contacts will appear. Before we import the Collingwood Directory, we will catagorize the personal contacts by using a Label. Using labels will help separate contacts much like using folders.
Step 2: We will go ahead and create a label for the personal contacts.
- On the left menu, click on Create label.
- A pop up will appear. Type a name for the label and click Save.
- We will also create another label for the Faculty and Staff Directory.
Step 3: Apply the "Personal" label to the personal contacts.
- Select all the contacts. You will need to hover over one of the contact icons in order to select the contact. Once the contact has a check mark, you will be able to select all by using the selection options at the top or pressing Command + A on a Mac or Ctrl + A on Windows.
- Click on the Manage label icon at the top and a context menu will appear with the available labels. Choose "Personal" and the "+ Create label" option will change to "Apply"
- When you successfully apply the label, the label will appear next to the contacts.
Step 4: We will apply the "Collingwood Faculty and Staff" label to the contacts in the Collingwood Directory.
- Click on Directory on the left menu.
Step 5: Similar to the personal contacts, we will have to select all of the Directory contacts.
- You will need to hover over one of the contact icons in order to select the contact. Once the contact has a check mark, you will be able to select all by using the selection options at the top or pressing Command + A on a Mac or Ctrl + A on Windows. Once they are all selected, click on the Add Contacts icon at the top.
Step 6: Once the contacts have been added, then the Manage label icon will appear. We can then apply the Collingwood Faculty and Staff label to the contacts.
- Click on the "Manage label", then click on "Collingwood Faculty and Staff". Once that is selected, then we can press "Apply label".
The Collingwood Faculty and Staff label will be applied to the Directory Contacts.
In the main contacts, all the contacts will now be separated by labels.
